1) El Pescador State Beach:
This beach is truly a gem, especially since it is so close to Los Angeles. Located in Northern Malibu, this rugged and beautiful beach captures the imagination of all who esconse down its rugged cliffside. On windy days, you might even get a stadium level seat to watch the kitesurfers go by as they dance along the pacific.
Address: 32900 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265
Directions: From Santa Monica, go North on PCH. Past Malibu Surfrider, Past Point Dume, Past Zuma Beach, Past Broad Beach, BEFORE Leo Carillo State Beach, BEFORE County Line. You will start to see signs for small State Beaches on the left side of the street.
2) The Cliff where they filmed the Kia Commercial that was shown during the Superbowl:
This Furthest Point on your romantic drive from L.A. along PCH is your turn around spot for the drive. It is a magnificent stretch getting to it, and this turn around spot is capped by a dramatic pointy cliff. It's also the location of mysto surfing spot Supertubes, which is known as a local spot that only fires during special swells and which this writer has yet to see in it's glory.
Directions: From Santa Monica, go North on PCH. Past Malibu Surfrider, Past Point Dume, Past Zuma Beach, Past Broad Beach, Past Leo Carillo State Beach, Past Ventura County line, Past the large Sand Dune (on your right) by about 2 or 3 miles. It is the farthest point before the highway gets boring, a dramatic spikey cliff.
3) Point Mugu State Beach.
Point Mugu is a cool and rugged beach that reminds you of the 17 mile drive near Carmel, CA with those creepy yet beautiful trees. Curb Your Enthusiasm filmed an episode there. Try not to pop a boner as this is sort of a Family beach, and not all that secluded.
Directions: From Santa Monica, go North on PCH. Past Malibu Surfrider, Past Point Dume, Past Zuma Beach, Past Broad Beach, Past Leo Carillo State Beach, Past Ventura County line, BEFORE the large Sand Dune (on your right).
4) Camping beach and Sand Dune
It's pretty awsome to see a huge sand dune near L.A. This sand dune is a half sand dune, which goes up the cliffside overlooking the ocean. It looks inviting to slide down on some cardboard, but it probably won't work as there are little pebbles in the sand.
Directions: From Santa Monica, go North on PCH. Past Malibu Surfrider, Past Point Dume, Past Zuma Beach, Past Broad Beach, Past Leo Carillo State Beach, Past Ventura County line.
5) Starbucks at Cross Creek and PCH
When you live in L.A., going to Starbucks is basically part of your life. This Starbucks in Malibu is the best starbucks in the world to see Cebrilities, such as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Usher, and many more. When your at the counter, just ask for the Timberlake special, and the barista will shake a can of whipped cream, place the canister near his groin, and shoot a projectile shot of sweet frothy milk at your face, while shouting "Back Street's back, baby!"

Address: 3900 Cross Creek Rd
Malibu, CA 90265
Directions: From Santa Monica, go North on PCH. It's about 100 yards past Past Malibu Surfrider. Just make a right on Cross-Creek road and you'll see the Starbucks on your right.
6) House with spiral Staircase to the sand
You will see these million dollar beach mansions lined up along practically the entire drive along PCH, and you will start to daydream about having one of them. The one that really captivated me was a two or three story gem, where you enter the top floor and the house goes down from there. This on had a Spiral Staircase going down from the main part of the house all the way to the wet sand below, how awesome is that!
Directions: From Santa Monica, go North on PCH. Past Malibu Surfrider, Past Point Dume, Past Zuma Beach, Past Broad Beach, Past Leo Carillo State Beach, right past Ventura County line about 50 yards. It's in the 1st cluster of houses past Neptune's Net Restaurant. Look for the spiral staircase going down to the sand.
7) Taking Picture in Front of Malibu Sign
The Malibu Sign is an iconic landmark that marks the entrance to the most famous stretch of beach in the world. It's pretty cool to take a picture next to the sign, and chicks digg it! Check it out:

Directions: From Santa Monica, go North on PCH. It's about 100 yards past Topange Beach, on the righthand side of PCH.
8) Driving around Campsite at Leo Carillo
Clarifornia is filled with all kinds of spooky, yet beautifully isolated nooks that are difficult to find. Finding the beach and campsite at Leo Carillo is counterintuitive because the entrance is on the opposite side of PCH. When you enter the roundabout entrance, head away from the beach to take a winding drive through the campsite to take a look at the Appalacian Americas who choose to reside there. Who knows?! Maybe someday you will be living in a hillbilly style village and this could be a glimse to the future.
Directions: From Santa Monica, go North on PCH. Past Malibu Surfrider, Past Point Dume, Past Zuma Beach, Past Broad Beach, down a beautiful sweeping incline.
9) Doing a physical activity such as Kitesurfing, Surfing, or Bodyboarding.
A trip to Malibu is not complete unless you do a daring stunt, like jumping into the pacific after a runaway kite, and skinning your elbow so you look badass when you go home.
Directions: From Santa Monica, go North on PCH to Malibu Surfrider.
10) Walking around Point Dume at Sunset
This kicker on our list could be the most romantic under the right circumstances: it happens to be 20 degrees warmer than normal, your girlfriend is wearing hiking boots, and you have a guide with an English Accent to lead you to a table with Champagne and chocolate Strawberries. However, it's probably pretty cold as the sun is setting, you both skinned your knees on the rocks, and your girlfriend is miserable from the hike. It is a really beautiful and TOTALLY SECLUDED beach, though.
Directions: From Santa Monica, go North on PCH to Malibu Surfrider. As you go down the hill, make a Left on Webb way (at the bottom of the hill). Follow Webb way, pay the parking guy 6 or 7 bucks, continue and park at the end of the lot, walk around the 1st group of rocks to the secluded beach.
